About Stewart Weir

Born in Brighton, England, Stewart Weir has been a freelance photographer since 1993. Internationally published and exhibited photographer whose work has appeared in National Geographic Traveller, Esquire, GQ, Vogue, Stern, and Paris Match etc. plus been published in over 40 books. Long term photo stories include English football culture (1994 to 2002) with a best selling book published in 1997 and the Brighton Beach Lovers series (1987 to 2008).

A photographer with a style reminiscent of the 50’s and 60’s documentary heyday his work is now mostly produced in the traditional way with black and white film. His work is eclectic in its subjects and approach to telling a story whether as a series of images or just one. It is the human condition and the environments that we call home that draws his attention.
